I wish the colors would show clear in this picture, but this really does work TONS better than the light teal flowers I painted before.
Bill really wanted blue in the kitchen, so I took that blue and repainted flowers on this center wall, then covered it with a chocolate colored linen glaze finish.
The blue shows up through the brown and really pulls the blue from the back wall quite nicely. As well as the brown mirroring the dark brown on the side walls. I really like it after all!

Josh's class presentation and my wheel
Today is my birthday, (I'm up late shopping for ceramic supplies, so I figure I had better blog about it too), and I have a wonderful used kiln that is PERFECT! Today I set it up, I cut out one of the shelves in my studio, kicked my sweet boys out of their little hide-out space, and made my art room into a full pottery studio! Is there a better birthday gift out there?
This is the board with all the "clubs" and their members. Josh is so proud, he made it into the "200 club" earlier this month. That's when they know how to count to 200 by 1's, 2's, 5's, 10's, and 25's. He was SO proud. Next he is working on getting into the "golden key club" where they have to know all their irregular vowels, digraphs, etc.
He LOVES his school so much, and is always so proud to have us visit. (like any student, until they hit 6th grade)
This video is longer than I had planned. I tried to video just him, but I started too soon. It's hard to hear the kids, but they are giving their oral presentation of the science project. Each table tested a different hypothesis, wrote out reports and graphs, and then each student memorized a portion of the report for this presentation. The video is so shaky, I'm sorry.....but I couldn't help it! It was all I could do to control the chuckles after hearing so many 6 yr olds say "hypothesis", some with the cutest lisps!

Jade never stops
Last night, Jade randomly asked me what my least favorite fruit and veggie is, and an item of clothing. This is what she did with that info. (Lindsay, what are we going to do with her? here is a plan, you work at Pixar and climb the ladder, then get Jade a job there when she graduates! Her character designs crack me up)

"DoctorSush" date
Our sushi jar has been full for some time now. Josh wanted a date night, so I took him with me to a doctors appointment, and after a little detour (about an hour at a ceramic supply store), we ended the evening at a Nagoya's. (not our favorite by far, but decent)
Josh named our date night "dr-sush". (kind of like Dr. Seuss, but "Dr. Sush" for doctors visit and sushi) He is brilliant, and he knows it! His drawings of Ben 10 aliens while he waited for our meal.
